Most Costumes need to be ordered for the June showcase.  We are measuring the performers throughout the next week and will be placing orders as early as Saturday 1/15.

IF you are not planning on participating in the june showcase, please let rosemary know in the office so that we know to not order you a costume.  Thank you!

It is very important that you notify us if yourself or your child will not be in the june show or if they will not be performing with a certain class.

It is very important that the teachers need to know before the costumes are ordered and before they choreograph.

Thank you

B

It’s that time of year to start planning our yearly tradition of our musical review.

Mary Poppins

For those that are new to Allegro, it is a mini production that includes dancing, lip-synching and character portrayal.  It is a ton of fun and we would love to have as many involved as possible!  The more the merrier!!  Sign up will be in the lobby in January.  Here are a few things to know when making the decision to participate:

1.      Participants must be in the minimum of Level 3. (Level 2/3 teen is ok)

2.      The fee is just $40 per dancer for all 4 months of rehearsals and choreography. Money due to Tonya Goodwillie on the first rehearsal!

3.      Rehearsals begin February 24th and are about two times a month on Saturdays. However, in June there will be more rehearsals, as it gets closer to the show.

4.      Once you sign up, please stay committed.  It is very confusing and frustrating to all to have people dropping out in the middle of preparation.

5.      The choreographer due to her knowledge of the students and their ability will choose specific roles.  No audition will be held!

6.      It is recommended that all participants watch the movie ‘Mary Poppins’ again prior to coming to the first rehearsal!

7.      Costumes are created based on each individual’s character.  Usually very inexpensive and from thrift stores or even your own closet!

8.      The dates are listed on the sign-up sheet in the lobby.  When specific roles are assigned, different groups will be assigned to times within the rehearsal time allotted.

I HOPE YOU CAN TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS FUN OPPORTUNITY!

Be Prepared:  Costume money due date is coming up – January 19th!

As early as it seems, we do have to start preparing for our spring show.  It takes 6-12 weeks to receive costumes from some of these national companies.  Prices will be posted in the lobby with the pictures.

If you need to make arrangements to pay half now and the other half by February 19th please let Rosemary know.

This of course is an understanding that you will be responsible for the balance of your costumes whether or not your child continues with their classes.  This is Allegro’s way of helping out their clientele because we understand what a burden costumes can be on a household budget.

Credit Cards are also a payment option for Allegro Customers.

Other info about June Showcase Costumes:

All classes will perform in the Spring Showcase.

Some classes will order costumes and some will have them made.

If they are being made you will pay the seamstress directly at a later date.

Quality costumes are not cheap!  We promise to do our best choosing costumes with reasonable prices.

The average price per costume per class can be anywhere from $30 to $60 plus shipping and handling and sales tax.

Pictures or designs of the costumes and their prices will be posted soon in the first lobby.

Please make your payment promptly.

Please let us know if you are not performing in the June show, otherwise we will assume that you are.

Congratulations to our November Performer of the Month:

Hannah VanderWoude!

Lost and Found!

Every few months we donate our Lost and Found.

It is such a shame how many clothes and dance shoes are never retrieved.  Before you go buy new dance shoes, make sure you check the lost and found first!

Chances are…they are waiting for you there!

*********************************************************************************************************

F

At Allegro, we shorten our 1 hour & 1 ½ hour classes by five minutes to give the dancers time to change their shoes, hydrate themselves and use the restroom prior to their next class.

*********************************************************************************************************

G

The Allegro Precision Dance Company will begin their competition season next month.  They have been rehearsing and preparing a wide variety of wonderful numbers and we intend on great results again this year!  Good Luck!!
