The Countdown
Begins!!!
Here
we are in the last two months of preparation before our June Showcase. It takes a lot of cooperation between
everyone to make our June show a successful one. Believe it or not, we do have parents a few
weeks before the show saying, “ I didn’t know my
son/daughter was performing in a show!”
So
please try to read this newsletter thoroughly and make note of all the dates
and times. Please let us know what we can
do for you to help make this process as stress-free as possible. Please remember that the purpose of our
showcase is for the performers and allowing them to have a great on stage
experience. All the minute details with
costume, hair, etc... are
important, but in the end it is all for the performers. For the memories it has created for them and
for the spark that it might have ignited.
CHECK OUT THE IMPORTANT DAYS WRITTEN ON
THE WHITE BOARD IN THE LOBBY TO HELP YOU REMEMBER DATES
Please watch your attendance in your classes between now and
June.
We are finishing
choreography for the JUNE show and it is important that we have everyone’s
participation and commitment. Thanks!

auditions
July 28th –
Specific times and choreographers will
be posted soon.
Auditions are by ages and levels
Performing
group is an excellent way to further your dance experience by more training,
performing and competing. However, it is
a large commitment. If you are
interested, feel free to discuss it with your instructors. Make sure you plan on attending the
pre-audition meeting, it is very
informational and mandatory (for first time auditioners) to attend prior to auditioning.

B
Level Placements and progress forms for
each student will be in your family folder and can be picked up the week of May
19th at the reception desk.
We will pass them out as you are on your way
out of the studio so that your private information is not shared with other
dancers. We want to avoid hard feelings
as much as possible. Different dancers
progress at different rates and we want everyone to feel proud about their
comments without having to compare it (and themselves) to others.
If you have questions about your
placement, please feel free to ask your instructor. However, please understand that the Allegro
Instructors think long and hard about their students’ placements. We also want what is best for each of our students!

*These are pre-order prices only; ticket order forms can be
turned in beginning May 17th at
Tickets are non-refundable and will be on sale for $15 the
weekend of the show.
The Showcases are all
different shows and a list is posted in
the lobby to inform you of which classes perform in which show. There will
be ticket price breaks for those that buy tickets to multiple shows.
·
If your performer is
listed in multiple shows, you will receive special discounts (one per family.)
·
If your performer is
in two shows – you will receive 2 free tickets for the second show (if two
tickets are purchased for the first show.)
·
If your
performer is in three shows -
you will receive two half price tickets for the second show and
two free tickets for the third show (if two tickets are purchased for the first
show.)

PICTURE
·
Saturday
May 31st -
Specific times printed in your family folder
·
Please have
your order form filled out and package information decided prior to
arriving. The forms will be available to
you the week prior at the studio.
·
The lines to pay can be long from time to time – so please be there
early to get in line to pay. The
children need to have their forms paid for when their picture is taken.
·
The list of times are posted in the lobby and you will also receive
one in your info packet. Classes will
go in 8-minute intervals. We ask that
everyone is 15 minutes early and ready! If you are late, chances are you will
miss your group picture and will only have the option of taking an individual
picture if you choose.
·
If your performer is only in one picture, bring them ready in their
costume for it tends to get quite crowed and chaotic in the dressing rooms.
·
If you are not planning on purchasing any pictures, please come and
participate anyway. We would like to
display all of our performers on our hallway wall next year!!
·
It is possible that some costumes might come right before picture
day or maybe even after. We cannot
control the costume companies. If this
happens please do not stress. We will simply arrange another session and take the picture when the costume
arrives.
E
Which show is my
performer in??
All of our shows are different! Each class number will perform only once -
either in the matinee or one of the two evening shows. The shows will be divided up primarily by
level. It is quite possible that your
student may have their class numbers separated between the three shows,
especially if they are in a variety of levels.
The show list is printed and in your family folder.
F
Saturday June 21st – Studio Rehearsal
This is
NOT a dress rehearsal!
This
rehearsal is to run through the shows in order to give the students a sense of
how it will flow!
Please do not expect to
see this rehearsal. This rehearsal is
for the dancers, the showcase is for the parents, family members and community.
(we
will be blocking off the observation room this time so that the hallway does
not become as crowded this time.)
·
General times are listed below,
specific times are in your family folder
·
Come early enough to warm-up and get yourself prepared!
General times for the 21st
Showcase #1 will rehearse from

The studio rehearsal will run in the order of
the show, with the exception of the younger children in the Saturday evening

not be expected to stay
the entire time, you can leave when you are through with your last number.
G
All
tuition is due by June 7th in order for any student to participate
in the June Showcase.
This
