Holiday Gifts!!!!!!!!!! If you are interested in purchasing specialized Allegro Clothing for gifts, we need to have you place your order before November 15th.  This will allow plenty of time to receive your order in time for the holidays.

Gift Certificates are also available for private lessons and regular classes!

B  Reminder

Allegro sells water and juice at the studio as well as snacks and healthy sandwiches. Hydration is a very important part of a dancer’s health.  If they have forgotten their own water bottle or do not have money to purchase water, they can put the water (and/or snacks) on their student account.

C  Audience Etiquette

We, at Allegro, are trying very hard to educate our audiences and family members of our students of proper audience etiquette.  We have experienced much frustration in the past with audiences’ behavior and their disrespectfulness to the performers on stage.

Just because these are mostly children and young adults does not mean that they do not deserve the same amount of respect as a professional venue. If anything, we believe that they deserve more respect because they need our moral support and many of them are still hesitant of performing in front of a live audience.

First of all, we need you to be aware and follow the expectations that are listed below.

Secondly, we need you to make your friends and family aware of these expectations as well.

** We are very aware that many of our audience members every year are not used to going to a performing arts show, many people are much more used to going to a sports game where you can stand up, eat your food and be as loud as you want.  Please trust us and know that the following expectations are not just our ‘crazy’ rules- they are unwritten rules of going to a performing arts performance.

Audience Expectations (in order to completely respect the performers and the other audience members.)

1.       No food or drink in the audience at any time

2.       Stay seated while performers are on stage – get up only in-between the numbers

3.       Enter and exit the theater doors in-between the numbers only, the doors will be monitored and will only be opened when a number has finished.

      4.       Absolutely no Flash Photography

5.       No Videography in the June Showcase (holiday showcase videography is acceptable)

6.       Stay for the entire show so that the performers at the end of the show can dance to as large an audience as those in the beginning of the show.

Thank you for your help with this matter!

D Give a special message to your favorite performer(s) for $5 by November 12th.

These messages will be printed inside of our Holiday Program and will be in the form of a “heart”

E Spotlight on Allegro Instructor:  Ricki-Lyn Coppock

What classes do you teach at Allegro?

Oh Geeze... Tap, Ballet, Jazz, and Hip Hop... Every age!

What other types of classes have you taught before?

      Lyrical, Drama, and Musical Theatre

What is your best memory of your dance training?

I love all the trips. I would have never gone the places I have been if dance hadn't forced my parents to pay for me to go there =) I have been to Canada, and Chicago for some Tap festivals. And the summer after I graduated we went to Vegas for the WCDE nationals... All of the trips have been absolutely AMAZING!!!

Who was/is most inspirational in your life?

Tonya. (No I am not trying to suck up =]...) I would not be where I am now without her. My first year at Allegro I told her my dream was to be a dance teacher. The next year she had me assisting a million classes, and the next year I was asked to teach my own classes. It all happened so fast, and I owe it all to her.

What is the funniest thing that has happened to you while teaching?

OH MAN!!! Too many funny stories... I teach a lot of the youth classes and I don't think a day goes buy I'm not laughing at the random things they say. The stories are the greatest, and nothing feels better than coming to teach and getting a picture a student made just for you, or hearing them talk about how pretty or good you are...

 Why do you teach?

I love watching the passion I have for dance rub off on my students. I love teaching them something, watching them make it their own, and watching them find the same passion I have for dance.

What other hobbies do you have?

None. Do you see how much I am at Allegro? =)

What is your favorite style of dance?

Lyrical... It’s so beautiful, and it feels so good to dance out all of your emotions...

What type of dance would you like to learn (that you don't know already)?

Ballroom... I think that would be the coolest thing ever =)

Goals or major plans for the future?

Just to learn different methods of teaching so every student that walks in can have fun, learn, and leave happy... I'd really like a new car to =)

What you want for your students to get (the most) from your classes at Allegro?

I want my kids to have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want my students to learn and memorize the steps of course, and do them correctly, but for the ages I teach the "fun factor" is the most important part. I want the students to enjoy coming to class every week so that as they get older and move up they will stick with dance and still love it even as it gets more challenging.=)

F  Is this your First Recital or Showcase?

Please let Tonya or Rosemary know.  We have special first recital certificates (for young dancers) available for our students.

G  **CLASS CHANGES**

Please make sure that you notify the office of any changes so that we can keep accurate track of class counts and your tuition!  Thank you.

H WARNING
