Allegro Performing Arts Academy

 
Allegro opened in February of 1996. Tonya was just 19 years old but had the support of many families which she had been teaching since the age of 16. Classes February through August 1996 consisted of just one studio room with Tonya as the only instructor and 75 students.
September of 1996 brought new teachers, such as Karla, and a second dance room! Through the years the studio grew in leaps and bounds. A third studio room was added a few years later as well as the addition of our fabulous instructors. (It is a long process to find great instructors that share a similar vision. We are very thankful to have such dedicated instructors!)

Eventually, Tonya began going back to school to finish her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance at Cornish College of the Arts and recently graduated in May of 2007. After being in our small 4,000 square foot home for 11 years, Allegro then moved into it's new larger (10,000 square feet) location in July of 2007.

It has been a complete blessing to have found a space so close to our original location and to have so much help from all of our Allegro families. Our minds are constantly swimming with ideas of how to use our larger space to benefit the community more, with classes such as special needs and in-house benefit shows.

We look forward to the years to come in our new beautiful space and continuing to share our love of the performing arts with all that come through our doors.
