Tonya Goodwille is the proud owner of Allegro Performing Arts Academy. She has been dancing for 34 years and teaching for 21 of those years. Tonya has danced professionally with the Fifth Avenue Theater as well as with The Trevor Sorbie of Redkin Show as the lead dancer. She continually betters herself by attending numerous conventions and seminars throughout the year. She has choreographed for the Miss Auburn Paegeant Dancers for the past seven years as well as for the 2010 Miss Auburn's dance solo (and former Allegro student), Hayley McJunkin. She graduated from Cornish College of the Arts '07 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. At Cornish she participated in Cornish Dance Theater and her modern/jazz piece "Blown Away" was chosen to perform at a Cornish show entitled "New Moves".
Tonya has judged for various dance competitions in the country and was chosen to be a advisor for Curtain Call Costumes. She is also involved with the Kent Chamber of Commerce and the Kent Downtown Partnership as well as numerous community service events.
Tonya is a certified member of Dance Educators of America and is certified as a "top tap" teacher with American Tap Dance Institute. In the Summer of 2004, she taught as a guest teacher for the American Tap Dance Institute Summer Tap Festival in Chicago. Tonya has won numerous choreography awards and is extremely proud of her students' achievements. She is proud of Allegro's ranking with the Federation of Dance Competitions of the Best Studio in the NW for 2010 and 2011. Tonya recently attended the Dance Teacher Summit in NYC in July 2010 and 2011.
Tonya has joined the City of Kent Arts Commission in 2011 and is extremely excited about being an Arts Commissioner! She loves community service and being involved in the Kent Community.
