My name is Katy Maples, I’m 22 years old and I’m from Seattle, Washington.

 

I started dancing when I was 4 and began competing when I was 9 years old, and continued for about 6 years!

 

Growing up, I trained in various styles, and my favorite to dance and teach is contemporary/improv but I love being capable of teaching multiple genres! Once I decided to stop competing at 15, I started training in LA and Arizona with a company MusEffect, where I was consistently challenged in my movement and artistry, as well as learning how to dance on camera and play different characters using my emotion and body language.

 

In 2024, I trained professionally with the company Vitality, based out of Denver Colorado where I got to learn the ins and outs of being in the industry and performing, as well as continuing my training in a different environment surrounded by crazy talented dancers.

 

2025, I stepped into a new role and began working for Fly Dance Competition as backstage manager and a judge, and hope to continue doing that as well as teaching/choreographing moving forward.

 

I’m so thankful to be in the world of dance and hope to inspire and grow the next generation of dancers!
