A History of Our Dance Studio
Successful Dance Studio Since 1996
Allegro Performing Arts Academy opened in 1996 in a 1-room studio. Teaching since age 16, founder Tonya Warren had the support of many students and their families. She was the sole instructor working with 75 students.

Growing Dance Space and Staff
Seven months later, more teachers and rooms were added. It’s a long process to find great instructors who share a similar vision, and we’re so thankful to have such a dedicated staff! Eventually, Tonya returned to school to finish her B.F.A. in dance.
Unwavering Family Support
After being in our small, 4,000-sq.-ft. facility for 11 years, we moved to a 10,000-sq.-ft. space in 2007 that is close to our original location. We appreciate all the help Allegro families have provided over the years!

Current Downtown Dance Facility
In 2013, we relocated to downtown Kent. The facility has great exposure and features our own parking lot, 6 large dance studios with viewing windows to observe dance classes and raised dance floors, 2 student lounges, locker rooms for girls and boys, a vending machine, a merchandise wall, an intercom system, video feeds from each dance room to a flat screen in the lobby, and more!
