Why Start with Ballet Classes?
Ballet is considered the foundation of dance and gives a dancer numerous positive benefits. It improves line, posture, flexibility, alignment and strength. Ballet will help set you up for other forms of dance. If you start with ballet or are even a seasoned dancer already, ballet can make you an all-around better dancer. Taking ballet will pay off in any type of dance you want to pursue.
The first exercise you learn and perfect in ballet is a plié which is also used in pretty much any other type of dance. Ballet gives dancers the technique needed to have a strong base for any dance style desired. Having a solid technique is so important for a student that wants to become a professional.
It is important to maintain your technique by keeping this foundation strong so it is recommended to take ballet classes regularly to keep up with it. It can be compared to the foundation of a building - if it becomes weak, the whole building could fall.
