My name is Moriah Smith. I am a graduate of NYU Tisch Dance and a proud Allegro alum. I began dancing at Allegro at eight years old and spent five years performing on the competitive team. During my time at NYU, I had the privilege of training with esteemed faculty and studying abroad in Prague, where I performed in a world-premiere work by Monika Rebcova for an international arts festival.

Throughout my training, I had the opportunity to work with an incredible range of artists, including Kyle Abraham, Andrea Miller, Sidra Bell, Pau Aran, Laja Martin, David Dorfman, Doug Varone, Ronald K. Brown, Rena Butler, Sofia Nappi, and the Dragon Sisters. In my final year at NYU, I was cast in performances of Sama by Gallim as well as Missa Brevis by Limón.

I’m excited to be back at Allegro, and I can’t wait to share what I’ve learned and work with all of you in class.
