Tap – where a dancer's musicality begins.

About our tap dance classes

Tap is based on American tap dancing style, with the feet as an instrument. Two major variations on tap dance exist: rhythm (jazz) tap and Broadway tap. Broadway tap focuses on dance; it is widely performed in musical theater. Rhythm tap focuses on musicality, and practitioners consider themselves to be a part of the Jazz tradition. Rhythm, syncopation and timing are stressed as well as proper technique.

Tap dance classes are Allegro are for all ages and it is an important dance genre filled with lessons of musicality that can help to supplement other dance genres as well.

At Allegro, our studio provides a variety of fabulous, well-qualified tap teachers to encourage the inspiration and growth for our students in tap!
