You always are told that you hear more NO’s than YES’s in the dance world and that is very true unfortunately. We are also critiqued every time we step on stage or in a classroom which can sometimes seem very negative and, at times, make us feel hopeless. So how do you get out of this rut? You remain positive and appreciate the accomplishments you have achieved. Stop stressing about what you don’t have or not gotten and embrace what you do have and have received. Have you ever thought about your performance priorities? You might be wondering what I mean by that. Ok… simply put, how would you complete this sentence? When I perform, my first obligation is to _________________________________________. Take a moment… Think about it… I will wait…. Done yet?
