Dance lessons according to Amelia!

My name is Amelia Warren and I am 17 years old. I have been at Allegro for almost 10 years and been on the competition team for 4. This is my first year on the pre-professional program. Dance is a big part of my life and has taught me many valuable lessons but also has brought me good friends and a good community. 

Dance is often seen just as choreography, costumes, competitions, and performances, but it is also about everything behind the scenes. It is a place where people can grow, learn important life lessons that apply to many aspects of life, and build strong connections. Dance creates a sense of community and becomes like a second family.

Dance has taught me discipline, perseverance, and confidence both inside and outside the studio. Through many rehearsals, competitions, and team bondings, I have learned the importance of hard work and supporting others. Some of my best memories and closest friendships have come from dance, which is why it means so much to me than just the performing on stage.
