Allegro Dancer is a National Dance Champion!

15 year old Landon earns a prestigious National Dance Title this past summer. Landon has been training at Allegro Performing Arts Academy in Kent for 12 years.

KENT, Wash. - Sept. 29, 2021 -- Landon traveled to Las Vegas to participate in a week long national dance competition and represent Allegro Performing Arts Academy at Velocity Dance Convention this past July 2021. He participated in many classes with nationally recognized teachers such as Whitney Bezzant & Marguerite Derricks. He also participated in a performance with pop star Todrick Hall. Velocity is one of the nation's most competitive national dance competitions in the country.

Landon earned his title as 'Teen National Maximum Velocity Artist' by getting the highest accumulated score of his solo performance, a jazz audition as well as a ballet audition. This is not his only time with great success as he has participated in national title competitions before. Previously, in 2014 Landon won Mini Male Elite dancer at West Coast Dance Explosion Competition. In 2018 he earned 1st Runner-up Junior Male MVA at Velocity Dance Convention and inn 2019 Landon ranked top 3 Intermediate Male at Hollywood Vibe Dance Convention nationals.

Landon shares about his experience, "Winning this title to me is so much more than just a title. It is a reflection of the progress that I have made and how far I have come. If you told me a year ago today that I won a national title, most likely, I would not believe you. This past year I have put in so much work to achieve this goal of mine that I have had for forever. I am so grateful to receive this opportunity." Landon was not the only dancer from Allegro that competed in the title competition. Other Allegro dancers earned many high placements such as Lidia Plenkovich 1st runner up Mini female MVA and Chloe Onaga 2nd runner up Teen female MVA. Allegro's team overall had great success with group numbers as well which is especially impressive with overall Covid challenges of the previous year.

All of his teachers are extremely proud of him and many were in the audience when the results were announced. Directors Tiffany Brooks & Patrick Pulkrabek were there as well as owner Tonya Goodwillie and longtime teachers Ricki-Lyn Coppock and Sara Palmer. It was so exciting to hear his name announced and to celebrate with Landon and the entire Allegro team.

The solo that Landon competed to help earn the title is a piece titled 'Enemy.' It is a lyrical/contemporary piece that exhibits Landon's technical skill, strength as well as his amazing style and passion for dance. This piece was choreographed by Patrick Pulkrabek, who has choreographed for Landon for many years.

Landon trains in ballet, jazz, lyrical/contemporary, tap, tumbling and hip-hop at Allegro Performing Arts Academy since he was three years old! He has received many accolades as a dancer throughout his years as a competitive dancer and his teachers know that there are so many exciting opportunities in Landon's near future!

Allegro is not only proud of him as a dancer but as an incredible young man that is dedicated, supportive of his teammates as well as being incredibly respectful and humble.
